Juan Ponce De Leon was born in Spain in 1460. He is the leader of the European expedition to find the mythical fountain that has to make the youth, not to find the southeast coast that later became the United States. Ponce de Leon to name the southeast coast of Florida and are found as the first governor of Puerto Rico.
Ponce de leon was born from a noble family, he became a soldier and fought against the Moors in Granada. By various accounts, ponce de leon began his exploration career as part of the second expedition of Christopher Columbus in 1493 after the war with the Moors ended.

After hearing reports that can be found in gold mines near Puerto Rico, in the year 1508 Ponce De Leon was officially sent by the Spanish crown to explore on the island of Puerto Rico. He took 50 soldiers in a boat and settled in the area now known as San Juan. a year later he returned to Hispaniola after finding a lot of gold but the supply is cut off, and later he became governor of Puerto Rico.
expedition Pounce De Leon scored a great success, and he was ordered to continue the exploration and mining of gold increases. so he returned to Puerto Rico and this time he brought his wife and children
